Tuition & Financial Aid
Choosing The New Community School is more than paying tuition, it’s giving your child the tools, confidence, and community to thrive.
Our college-preparatory program for students with dyslexia and related learning differences includes individualized instruction, competitive athletics, and enriching activities, all designed to unlock potential and inspire a love of learning.
But the value goes beyond academics. TNCS helps students discover their strengths, build resilience, and develop the skills they need to succeed in school, college, and life. The result? Graduates who are not only well-prepared for their next step, but who step forward with courage and purpose.

Ways to Make a TNCS Education a Reality

How to Apply for Financial Aid
The New Community School is committed to making a TNCS education accessible to families at all income levels. We offer limited financial aid each year to qualified students, and awards are granted on a first-come, first-served basis. We'd like to encourage you to submit your application as early as possible to ensure your family is considered for assistance. We’re here to support you every step of the way in making the best decision for your child’s future.
TNCS partners with Clarity™ to provide a simple, streamlined process for determining a family’s level of financial need, a system we have successfully used for several years.
Applying is easy! The Clarity™ application typically takes 30 minutes or less to complete. You’ll create an account, follow the step-by-step instructions, and pay a $65 application fee. If you are applying to multiple schools that use Clarity™, you can share your application with them directly.
Clarity™ is mobile-friendly, and when you complete the verification step, your 2024 tax documents (1040 and W-2) will transfer automatically from the IRS.
Important Deadlines
-
Priority Deadline for Returning Families: December 15, 2025
-
Deadline for Accepted New Students: January 15, 2026
*Applications received after these dates are considered as funds allow.
If you need assistance, Clarity™ offers support at support@clarityapp.com or by phone at 206-210-3752.
Clarity™ Application Support
If you need support during the process of completing your application, there is in-app support available through the “Help” button in the bottom left of the screen, as well as email and phone support, in both English and Spanish. The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish.
Financial need is defined as the difference between your family’s resources and the cost of tuition. TNCS meets a portion, but not necessarily all, of that need with its available resources. Families must reapply for assistance annually, whether or not their financial situation has changed.
The School will only act on complete applications with required supporting tax documents. The School will respond to the assistance request only when the student has been admitted. Because of limited financial assistance dollars, it is important for families to meet stated application deadlines as assistance is awarded on a first come, first served basis.
Any questions regarding this process can be addressed to the Business Office.
